A shaded woodland glade opens onto a still pool, with a great tree trunk framing the right-hand side. In the New Forest in Hampshire, dappled sunlight picks out green leaves, twisting roots and a floor of russet fallen leaves, while distant trees give a glimpse of blue sky. It is a cool, restful scene with a lovely sense of depth.
